Oh my time has slipped away and the bride has yet to walk down the aisle. So much has happened in the past 2 months. Holidays, Children coming home to visit and 2 deaths have occurred throwing a curve in our lives. Oh yeah, I have become a year older on the day we journeyed home from a funeral out of town and the Super Bowl won out the day. Before I forget the details since I am now 50 + 1 and my brain is starting to lose it’s short term memory I will continue with my recollection of the wedding, or as time goes by I will need to watch The Storybook Wedding show, (soon to air in April on the Oxygen Network) in order to remember and relive the Glorious day my Cali Girl got married.
The Bride, standing in the open field in all her wondrous beauty patiently waiting for her cue to take to her mark. Is she nervous? What is she thinking at this moment? These are questions I have forgotten to ask. She is holding a secret. She knows and no one else has a clue what or where her mark for advancing towards the ceremony will be. Here we are preparing to line up after passing a big Bassett Hound basking in the sun in the clearing, my nerves made me laugh so hard at this sight and wishing I had my camera. The bridge we are to cross lies just ahead in sight, nervously (at least for me) we wait for the instrumental group to cue us forward. I hope for the song of Cali girls choice will be the one she gets to walk down the aisle to. When a show is being filmed clearance is needed from the artist in order to use it. The guest have been seated and the music begins. It is time, excitement becomes overwhelming for me. The Grooms party advances forward taking there places, then the Groom He looks calm, cool, and collect and oh so debonair. Next the Mother’s are escorted by the Grooms Father, a simple little wedding and I was truly honored to be escorted by a singer/songwriter of the past Joey Scarbury. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL47uNIZDd4&feature=relatedo Next up the Bridal party, one by one the beauties take their place.
The Flower girls are in awe at all the people gathered. When you see the flower girls you know at any moment the bride is on her way. On her way she was too. Her secret. The Bride to be was to wait on the other side of the bank stepping gingerly into this boat being rowed up to the ceremony by Dean himself. We had no clue this would be her big entry until the music began playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-Lp2uC_1lg Shania Twain“From this Moment”. I see her in the boat and I start to cry and then again when I see her Father at the bridge holding her up while she is teary walking down the aisle towards us.Even now I relive this moment remembering how emotional it all was, her beauty just breathtaking. What was going through the Grooms head if this happened to be my emotions? The minister steps into place, a chandelier hanging just above their heads, the wedding stage had been set to perfection, daisies aligned the walk way guest sat on old benches crystals adorned the trees, settees hosted the Parents of the Bride and Groom. Action, roll camera let the vows begin. Devotion of life and love are generously given by both and how complete each other feel and lucky to have a life and future together going forward. A synopsis for what they shared in words to each other made me cried even more. There was not a dry eye in the house so moving and heartfelt. You felt their commitment to each other for life everlasting. Then the finale, every Brides dream A basket of doves brought forward to be released. Two doves fly off soaring into the blue sky followed by many, this signifies unity of a couple, their families and friends. We must have unity of all in order to make it through the good times and the hard times in a marriage. We Promise to Support and Honor your Unity, never to meddle only to help guide. This is our new Family and we embrace it. I am very happy for my Cali Girl and even if she never moves back home closer to us I know she is loved by her new Husband deeply and together they have a Life they call Home.
I did however forget while the ceremony was going on this was being filmed and none of this would have been possible without Tori Spelling and Dean’s involvement along with the Oxygen Network. THANK YOU
Let the Party and celebration begin with good eats, dancing and true Love.
